   The Fujairah College (FC) is a city-government and non-profit educational institution, and it was formally established in 2006 by the Fujairah Welfare Association (WFA). The College received its license to operate as a higher learning institution from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) on April 1, 2006.

On August 16, 2006, with the effort of the members of the Board of Trustees chaired by His Excellency and Honorable Saeed Ben Muhammad Al-Raqabani, the College received its status as accredited academic institution from the Commission for Academic Accreditation, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (CAA-MOHESR) to offer the first two associate degrees in Business Administration and Information Technology, effective September 1, 2006.

Dr. Ghassan Al-Qaimari was appointedd as the first College Director. He organized his leadership team to efficiently administer the strategic goals of the College, with Dr. Burton Allauigan-Aggabao as Head of the Academic Planning and Institutional Research Affairs, concurrently the Head of Human Resource Management, and the first Program Coordinator of the Business Program; Dr. Soomro Tariq for Information Technology Program; and, Dr. Gabriella Berger, Coordinator of the English Language Development Program.

The commitment of the College to render outreach programs was heralded in the entire city and nearby emirates through the establishment of the Center for Continuing Education and Executive Development (CCEED) in 2007. The framework of learning development and core training areas of CCEED, namely: Supervisory and Leadership Development Program; Business and Management Development Program; Information Technology Development Program; and, English Language Development Program. In addition, the Center had administered the first Information Technology training programs and examinations on International Computer Driving License (ICDL). The College continuously renders outreach training programs to various individuals, private and public organizations in the city.

Aware of its responsibility to contribute to the intellectual, economic and social development of the Fujairah Emirate, the College prepares students’ working knowledge and skills for immediate employment and further higher studies, the college developed and expanded the academic curricular programs and endeavored to pen the next ladder of its two-year diploma programs to Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT). In September 2010, the College received its license and accreditation of the two (2) Bachelors programs from the CAA-MOHESR. In September of the same year, FC started to offer the BBA and BIT programs. The Business Administration program, to include BBA General, offers five major areas in Management, Marketing Management, Human Resources Management, Banking and Finance. While BIT program offers two areas of specializations in Networking and Security; and, Internet and e-Commerce.

With the transition of leadership, Dr. Rifat Saleh Khalaf was appointed as the second College Director on July 1, 2012. The College received its initial accreditation on August 1, 2013 to offer Diploma in Public Relations and Bachelor of Mass Communication and Public Relation with four areas of specializations—Journalism, Digital Media, Public Relations, and Advertising; while the Bachelor of Arts in Arabic and Literature program was forwarded to the CAA for its initial accreditation.

With the innovation and challenges ahead, Dr. Khalaf unveiled the primary long term strategic goals of the College to become a progressive University in the region, and regarded as an academic leader in the East-Coast of the Emirates.
